link question

ive looked around at pics and everything, but a question on stock hangers (front and rear) on an S-10 (91) do i need them, or cut them off before a 4-link? or a 3-link wishbone? im about to start on the frame and am confused about where to start? thanks for any info, and dont be afraid to laugh at this dumb question
