Broke my ankle, can't finish my truck!

This sucks... Saturday night my best friend and I got fucked over due to a stupid dog, bad brakes, and a cell phone. I was following my friend to a shop where a guy I know was going to put my new motor into my Ranger 4x4 so I could sell it for more $ to put into my Mazda. My friend who I was following only has a permit so legally I should've been riding with him in his car... but I asked him to drive his car out there so he could drive me back from the shop. Well my cell phone rang, and I looked down to take it out of my pocket. At the same time, a wiener dog ran out into the road and my friend slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting it. I looked up to see him right in front of me at a full stop... I slammed on my brakes, they locked up and I totalled his car. He got a $1076 ticket for driving with no license and no insurance... I got a $1076 ticket for negligent driving with no insurance... My friend had insurance as of that morning, but didn't have his proof of insurance papers, and I didn't have insurance because I hadn't drove my Ranger in 8 months and planned on just selling it asap. When my brakes locked up and I rear ended my friend's car, my foot slipped off the brake when I hit him and it hit my firewall which fractured and dislocated my ankle. My friend who I rear ended bruised his knee and got a mild concussion but he's ok now but I have to buy him a new car. I am also paying his ticket after we try to get our tickets reduced. So basically Saturday night, I did minor damage to my truck, ruined a $2000 car, and got $2152 worth of tickets as well as who knows how much my medical fees are gonna be (no medical insurance) The police even tried to say I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, because my friend's belt broke and mine didn't. I guess $1076 is the maximum traffic ticket so when I got cited yesterday, they didn't mention anything about no seat belt... if they did, it would have really pissed me off cuz I probably would have had way more than a broken ankle if I wasn't wearing my belt.

Anyway I can't work on my truck now so for the second year in a row I won't have my truck ready for show... but at least I'm alive to see what other people have done to their rides. I'm not sure how long it will be before I can walk again but I should find out tomorrow.
