sheet metal fuel cell?

i was wondering what the best gauge sheetmetal would be to make a fuel cell. ive never dealt with aluminum so i was thinking stainless steel. would that work best? its gonna be 10-15 gallons, im not 100% sure yet. also what can i do so the inside wont rust. any help would be great. thanks in advance.-Greg
