gas tank for 2000 up fullsize stockfloor bd

What is everyone doin to their gas tank when they stockfloor their new body fullsize chevys? The gas tank needs to be shorter..I know on the older trucks you can chop the part thats under the cab off and weld it up..but my tank is plastic? And I dont really want to get a fuel cell..any help or ideas?
