converting sub from 4x4 to 2wd

my buddie has an 87 sub that is in perfect condtion he said he whould sell it to me for 3gs i want it but the prob is that its a 4 x4 and way to high id like to know if it is possible to change it over to 2wd so it can be bagged what is involved in doing so
