need help ASAP

im working on a pic and need some quick info! everytime i lasso parts of the truck to copy and paste to shave door handles and stuff a window pops up telling me it cant copy becuz the selection is empty! i mean every single time!!! and its pissing me off!! there is always something inside the box yet it claims there isnt...whats going on?
