how to juice to ride better

i have an 89 dime and it's got 2 pumps and 4 batt.it doesn't have shocks on it and i was told shocks would take away from the quickness and hopping.i was wondering if there is anyway to get this to ride better.I feel like a milkshake after two bumps.
