compressors?

i have 2 thomas compressors, theyre a couple years old, well lastnight they were working fine,Today it shows not even 100 psi in the tank,and the front wont even budge after them being on for 20 mins. i shut them off and sprayed DW40, they seem to be sucking air thrugh the filter, could they just have died that quick?
