I use compressed air because the rags dry up to fast. Also mixing electricity with water is never good. I've become the ground due to water int he past.

Air seems to cool it faster.

I don't know why you are cooling down the welds on your notch or links. You shouldn't prematurely cool structural welds.

they say to cool a weld with any type of oil because it will strengthen the weld, using water will weakin the weld.

Oil quenches the weld, and it absorbs it. Not so good when you want to keep welding to the piece.

i was just referring to sheet metal welds. my my buddy mike cools his door handles when shaving stuff with a damp rag. he'll tack, cool, switch to the furthest point, tack, cool. and just does it all the way around. he said it helps cool the weld faster so it reduces warping.

structural stuff like frames and whatnot i would just let cool naturally. that metal is thick enough to weld and let cool under normal circumstances. i was just curious. im gonna have to try the compressed air method next time.

truck looks good by the way, that intake looks awesome.
