So I'm bagging an '87 Mazda for this guy named Manny. He calls the truck Sparky, so thats what its going by from now on. Lol.

This is how it was brought to me.

So I started cutting that crossmember out, because it wasn't going to work. Once I cut out one side it dropped and broke off the other side.

It came clean off. So I hit on the other side I cut a little, and pried at it a bit and it fell off too.

So I reused the good tubing from the crossmember, because it was pretty nice tubing to work with really. So I started my own, and this si where I got today.

Yeah thats 3/8" plate.
I also got the tank mounted. And thats pretty much the last of the square tubing this thing will see.

Depends on how fast I get it bagged. He wants it back no later than the first week of June, which gives me 6 weeks. He wants it BD by then, but I'm against rushing things. I'm guessing the back job will take me 3-4 weeks total.

i think im gonna do it.. ill leave my bridge in for now, but i will cut the bottom brackets off... should i put them as close to the cab, or just the center of the bars?

I'd put them in the center, or an inch or two past it. Not too close to the pivot point, it will put the bag at some crazy angles, and put a lot of stress on the bag.
