My tank will never drag. And everything is Grade 8. Down to the bolts holding the tank in.

My answer to your question... Probably along the same lines as Seth.. At least this was my reason, You keep an acurate read on your gas gauge, you dont have to spend un needed money on a fuel cell, fuel pump etc.. and you dont have to waiste more room in your bed.. IM PARTIAL TO KEEPING THE TANK THOUGH....
