Welding in tailgate skin and leaving the tail lights

Alright guys my question is has anyone welded or know anyone that has had a tailgate skin welded in and kept there factory tailights on a 2000 s10 or that body style s10. cause usually u half to open the tail light to change the bulbs. Im just wondering if a bulb blows how am i going to change a bulb will i still be able to get to the screws. I already have the skin. Anyone that can help i would appreciate it.
