houston texas hangout or something

i live in houston texas and i was wondering what ever happened to all the hangout/cruise spots. i remember one of the best ones was off of bay area blvd. at the barnes and noble bookstore. i was wondering if anyone knew of any current hangouts/cruise spots in this area if so please post where and when,
