I had put this in the Off-Topic forum but I know it will get answered here.

How do I run dual batteries? I have like 6 red-top optimas laying around my house, and they are all good, but whats involved in running a 2 battery setup? what all do I need?

You can run what is called an isolater it automaticaly chaRGES BOTH BATTERIES BUT OPERATES ON SEPARATES SYSTEMS OR YOU CAN RUN A SOLENOID TO SPLIT THE BATTERIES UP

Use a solenoid if you want one for a bak up. Isolators arent not efficiant there is a power loss through them. Personally I prefer them just wired parralel ++ --. Simple as that

I'm interested in this also. I want to run a seperate battery for my accesories. With the system, electric fan, and my one AZ my lights dim significantly when all of them are on. I have 2 2farad caps that don't seem to help much. Plus, I might upgrade to an Oasis if my EDC don't work out. Can any provide a wiring diagram. Or maybe a site that can give us a solid answer.

Also, If you ran them parralel wouldn't that make it 24 volts. I'm probably wrong. But I know on a old John Deere tractor we have. It uses 2-6volt batteries wired in parallel, to make it a 12 volt circuit.

24V is wiring the batts in series...
for 24v you connect the neg- of on batt to the pos+ of the other Parralel (I know my spelling is wrong) is Pos+ to Pos+ and Neg- to Neg-. I will look for a drawing. DO you want a drawing of a Soleniod? system? Or just 2 Batts?
