Crappy aim DC5000 compressor

What guage wire is everyone using to run their compressors????? It seems like 10 would do fine....I called aim and told them their compressor sucks and the tank they sold me has a hole in it and he said use 4 guage wire and it'll put out more air.....that's ridiculous when the wire coming from it's 8-10....I don't know though...let me know, thanks....
