Mazda + pacesetter, another question.

I'm running straight out of the headers now(pacesetter) and it dies if i let it idle. Is this because i dont have my 02 sensor in? oh ya im running the stock carb. But my question is once i put my 02 sensor in will it run right??? and will the header melt any shit cuz it seems like it might... thanks
