S-10 Seating Question

I was told a person like 5'7" or taller need an ext. cab.. Is that true? Since they need the slide seats. Cuz I like the smaller look of the single cab but the ext. cab has a good amout of room for subs. I am 5'9" and was just wonder, since everyone I know about my height or taller drives and ext. cab..
