They had those things on the chevy 3500 chassis too and theyre dangerous. Youll lock up the front tires waaay before you even feel that back stopping while hauling a load.

All 4 of the tires lock up on my Mustang on a regular basis. I've learned to control it, and it freaks people out. Its loud.

i cant believe you got the stick welder to penetrate good, id be nervous as hell if i was welding my frame with a stick... Maybe its just me, but i never could manage to get a really good amount of stregnth/penetration with stick welds...

Good job tho, EXTREMELY clean for a stick job!

i stickwelded the notch on my s15 about eight years ago, still there. why do you think pipe welders use stick?

Yea If your used to a mig you prob have a habit of going a lil to fast!
With sticks ,I used em to join 1/2"" thick i beam on the job site .
Its a lil slowwer process and i like to push the pool back and forth a lil with sticks rather that C shape with a mig .But yea pretty smooth for a stick job.Prob was removing slag more than welding though!

a stick welder will penetrate just as good or better than most non 3 phase mig welders.
