Somebody please tell me the secret to getting the lower control arm bolts out of a 89 yota. I have tried a sledge hammer and the bolts just wont budge!

They are actually threaded even though you probably won't find a socket to fit the head. If they are to rusty you may need to grind the heads off. Another thing you can do is double up the nuts so you can loosen it from the opposite side.

The bolt is threaded? No wonder I couldn't pound it out.

Yeah I made that same mistake. Luckily I could get it loose using pliers.
You know what I mean though right? I should of said the actual control arm is threaded.

Did you get some pliers on the torsion bar head and turn it out that way Baha?

Got it out. Visegrips on the head of it worked wonders. Now I gotta do some planning on triangulating the lowers. Thanks for the help Baha!
