How to fix my mistake (front tubs)

I attempted to tub the front end of my truck and it didn't turn out good at all. I am looking at taking it to Ice at McClary's Metal Works (or House of Hack as previously named) and have it redone but not sure how to have it done, or what all to have done. I need to move wiring or at least have it cleaned up a good bit, but the pictures will tell the story IMO. Things just didn't happen like I wanted.

Basically, I cut before I knew what I was doing and now I'm paying for it. I really want a core support made, as well as the new tubs. The pictures make it look decent, but in person theres a lot that needs rethinking.

It looks fine from the pics, where are the bad cuts you are talking about?

I need to take more pictures tomorrow to show the bad areas. the top rail is not straight anymore, the side pieces are warped, let them in the engine bay too far...and more than anything its just not clean like I want.......to me anyways.

One thing a lot of people do with the top rail is they replace it with 1x1 tubing, that would straighten it out. I think once you finished it you would like it. What gauge did you use for the side pieces?

I would say cut it out and try again if you're unhappy with it...

Good work either way!

On a side note... How much protection do those trailer inner fenderwells really provide???

They look like it would only protect the hood and not the engine or anything else...

Just wondering cuz I would like to do the same thing.

protects the firewall when compared to having nothing there at all.

Off topic on your truck. Does your upper control arms clear your bag brackets. I ask cus it looks like you cleaned them up and trimmed the sides.

nope, sure don't. he took all the time to clean em up, notch for the steering......but not to clear the bracket. couldn't tell you why.
