What are people's ideas regarding building a frame out of 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" x .120???
Besides it not meeting DOT regulations (here in Aus anyway) would it be a problem. I plan to shear load gusset all the joins between the front and rear bags and what not. Or would you run .160" for the rails and reserve .120" for crossmembers only in order to try and compensate for the 3/8" shorter rails (as compared to 3" x 2")?
Constructive criticism appreciated guys.

i didnt know there was 2-5/8" but then again ive never gone and asked. you probably could get away with it but it seems to be a little small. id probably do dual rails down each side like some frames that have been shown before.

Yeah over here in Aus we use metric measurements it's 65x65x3mm. Thanks for the opinion framescr8pintoy. It's on the verge of being tooooo small I think. I was actually considering dual rails because it's going to be a really narrow frame too.
Thanks. Anyone else, used it before/got any insight to share?

if you are narrowing your chassis, you won't get it by an engineer anyway.
