i need help

what i believe is a return hose broke friday of last week and there's been a slow leak in my hydraulics that has gotten really bad. i can lift the front fine and let it down but i can't lift the back anymore, it goes WHEEEEEEE! makes a high pitched whiny noise, i know it's lost fluid and i can't get it fixed till friday, i was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions as to why the front would lift fine but not the back
