Any one on here running a larger front rotor on a 84-88 2wd truck?
The only one I can find is the Wilwood, & rotor & hat is a lot of money.
Is there any rotor that fits from another year or manufacture??
I know the caliper will have to be changed, want a 4-piston one anyway!
you can use the 4wd front calipers but you,ll have to go with the willwood hat and rotor and build a spacer/ bracket to offset the caliper.
here is an example of that.
Its a nice setup and its a hell of a lot cheaper than Downey or LC.
don't those companies only do rear brakes conversions?
heres another setup for big fronts. says 89+ but they should work on 84+
LC does front and rear. Downey also makes a big rotor that would work with an aftermarket hat like the willwood or SSBC has.
I'll claim ignorance on the downey stuff, pretty cool and didnt know that.
as for LC, their front brakes for our pickups are limited to cross drilled/slotted stock rotors. i have a set of those.
