what motor should i plop in my pup?

im gettin a daily driver within the next month or so, and my goal is, by slamfest to have a new motor in my truck. i was thinking a nice stroker motor, but im not sure, i dont care about speed, just want something nice for the shows, also what kind of tranny would work good in there?
