I'm thinking of doing a hardtop convertible on my '87 regular cab. I want to keep it looking fairly stock, and I want the hardtop to fasten back on so it's warm and dry in the winter time. I knew there were kits available at one point but I cannot find them anymore. Any ideas? I would also appreciate if people could post any close up pics of convertible conversions, I don't mind making all my own bits, I just thought a kit might save me some time in designing and fabricating. Thanks for any info, tips or pictures that may be provided. And of course when I do get around to doing the conversion I will share some of my info and pics.

It's for a s10 but you may be able to make it work.

didnt they used to be called pop tops or something?
oh no if these make a comeback it will be tandem axels next.
there was a thread on SSM about 3 years ago on this, some guys just cut the cab down and added seals with a latch mech inside, i dont know how clean you could make the seal areas and you sure wouldnt want the roof catching some air and getting sucked off on the freeway

rad i cal by aim.. my last s10 i had was hard top vert..my honest opinion....dont do it....it is ok for a while till the plastic dry rots/breaks..then it leaks or you lose a piece.....then no one will buy it because it is a convertable..
