i dont know it would def. be the best thing. i removed mine and it SUCKS balls to not have it anymore. when you only need to get out for a minute you gotta lay your truck out so it doesnt roll...pain in the ass. but the cables bind up and if they are too long, they wont work right aired up. what i plan on doing is remove the cables (already done) and put in a line lock for the front disk brakes. all you'll need to do is pull a thing to lock the pressure in the brake lines.

I kept mine and it works fine. It took a little bit to get it where it wouldn't bind up being either up or down.

I just added a little more slack to the line by not using both hold downs on either side of the frame. When the cable comes from the brake housing it is held in place by 2 clamps then goes to the sleeve retainer on the xmember under the cab. I only use the sleeve retainer and the clamp closest to the xmember, not the one closest to the brake housing. it takes a little bit of time of getting the adjustment right but it works and doesn't bind.

Whoa Wait one minute! You let "other people" drive your truck? What are you thinking? I only let my wife drive my cars and only because....well, you know. It's a good trade. I have people offer for me to drive their stuff and I turn em' down simply because I have seen enough of "Judge Judy" to know how that could play out if I break their s@#t! I hope you have good insurance!

haha...no its just family. and not very often at that. but one time i left the truck at an uncles house for about a week and when i came back to pick it up, he said two people thought he had a midlife crisis, a couple neighbors wanted him to take them for a ride, and one person offered to buy it. so i looked at my tank guage and it was almost empty. now i lock the switchbox when anyone else drives.

One thing to keep in mind when you remove the ebrake is that without it the rear pads never adjust. Some will adjust automatically when backing up but the way Toyotas are designed they have to have the ebrake for them to adjust.

As far as the set up goes its pretty easy. Both cable have 3 mounting places I just undid the clamp closest to the rear end and adjusted the cable so it wouldn't bind when being layed out. Also I made my own tranny xmember and lowered the ebrake swing arm/tensioner so it would clear the driveshaft at all times. I'll see if I can't grab a couple of pics for you.
