Removing my front wheels wells

To remove my front wheel wells, can i just unbolt my grill, unbolt my fenders and take them off then just unbolt or cut my wheel wells out. Or is it not worth taking all that crap off and just cut it out. I'd rather do it the first way just for easier excess.
