intake trouble on a s10 after body drop

i heard that you can use an intake manifold off of a cavalier so that you dont have to cut a hole in the hood...so a long story short i got one and its not even close... did i get the wrong year or what?? any info is a help . thanks cliff.. www.cali-style.com
