autocross demolition derby

Running in a derby/race and looking for some tips or anything really. Its a 1988 might max. I want to take the exhaust off and run straight header but my only concern is will that mess with backpressure or anything?

I haven't done anything else to it so far except for the standard rules like no headlights/glass/chained door etc.
