Rod for lowering spare tire.

Just got this truck. 1989 Dodge Ram 50 4WD. I've been looking for the rod to lower the spare so that I can check it and make sure I have a good spare. So far, I can't find the rod. Where should it be?

Man I have looked all over the web and cant find the answer but i would guess behind the seat

i think it should be under the seat. but its probably missing.

Yes. I believe it is missing. I found one that works in an even older truck that was hanging around. Also found a lug wrench that fits.
