Thiw was my first Mitsu/Dodge. It was an '89 D50 I bought new and lowered the first week it was home. This was about half way thru the entire history with that truck that eventually led to learning ALOT about body mods including suicide doors. This picture was taken as I rolled into a 1994 show. The bed and cab off this truck is now on the green and silver truck pictured in this site's header. I have moved on but I still miss this truck

Wow that's so cool, did it ever have any other looks before the green and silver?

When I owned the truck it started out red and was painted Isuzu Coral Reef (stock Amigo color) when I had to repair the rear bed corner when it was hit. It went to two tone black/coral later, then primer while we did all the body mods including shaved bumper, suicide doors, flushmounted Ninja gas cap, shaved gate and taillights, frenched rear plate and a few other minor ones, and it was painted silver once ready. I got bored with the truck and sold it to my friend Kevin Harris (the current owner of the green/silver truck) and he used the body on his severly modified frame-drivetrain. He still owns the truck and it has a 2.0 turbo motor out of a Talon, a Viper 6 speed trans, nitrous, bags,4 link...the whole works. My old bed and cab are still on it to this day. Me and most of my old friends were all part of the beggining of mini-trucking

It's a clean truck, did you ever get any dynos, or track runs in with the motor swap? I wish more minis had built up motors like you did but most just seem to want to drag.

I wish I could claim responsibility for all the trick mechanical work the truck has on it now, but that was all Kevin's intensely hard work. He is actually a Viper certified Dodge mechanic and knows his stuff. The most I ever did to the truck performance-wise was Mikunis, a cam and a header I got accomplished in a weekend. I originaly bought the truck as a daily driver to use instead of my Pro Street '69 Nova, but once the Nova was totaled, my attention turned to the truck. Keep in mind we modified that truck back in the mid '90's when there wasn't all the vendors out now or the internet to turn to. Give you an example, the hinges that we used to suicide the doors were off of 2 Jeep Grand Wagoneers in the junkyard. You could literally stand on the door while open and the truck didn't care. I actually still have a welding burn scar on my arm from that project. That truck is the exact reason I have my '90 now, but I got smarter and found a 4WD V6 5speed, and right now it is mechanically perfect and the looks will follow very soon.
