Hey guys i just bought a 1984 Dodge D50 pickup. Im new to the site and looking for some info on turning this into a stadium styled truck. Judging from the post i have red and come across there doesnt seem to be much off road on this site. Can you guys help get me started on this. Also what larger motors will fit in this truck.

ya i dont think anyone on this site is into off road d50's. but for larger motors you can put a turbo eclipse motor. or a v8. either one is gona take some work though.

how do you make an 4g63t work in a rear wheel drive truck? I remember reading something about this on the mighty d50 forum..but sadly it's lost

4g63 is a narrow block, my understanding is all MM/D50s are wide blocks. 4g63 isn't a bolt in motor. most of the swaps are 4g63 heads and turbo set up on a 2.4l 4g64 motor(90-92 is a 6bolt and is immune to CW)
that's what i want to do with my 91, make it a lifted turbo 2wd desert truck

All that is good, but the V6 3.0 engine can make the power of a V8 easy with it's 8-9-1 CR and 3000gt shared engine platform, easy to turbo and bottom end ready. The 4g63 is a great engine and it does bolt up to your trans and motor mounts so its really up to what you want or need from your truck. There's a website devoted to rwd 4g63 swaps as well as head swaps on to the 2.4 bottom end . Good luck and please people if you cant answer someones question fully on what it was about then don't bother. I have seen this similar question monthly about the 4g63 swaps and the web site I give is good as well has a forum section.
