hey guys i found some tahoe rims, 6 lug, at the bone yard today... i believe they were 17 inch wheels..will i have to do anything to make the rims work, like bore the hub? i thought i read that somewhere... please let me know so i can get them before they are gone.
thanks
Just gotta bore em I think. As long as 6x5.5 should work. If you can find a spacer to help clear the ridge then might be cheaper then a shop. Price em out first. Diy is usually cheaper.
I remember a discussion on mightyd50, more people suggested grinding the ridge on the hubs and saying it was safer. also clears up ability to rock any 6x5.5. Just gotta make sure the thing flat or tire will wobble.
just gring the tabs down on your truck alot easier and like stated by ryan4dc you can rock any 6 on 5.5 wheel. thats what i did and have no problems at all.
when you say tabs, what do ya mean... the truck is at work with my wife, will i know what your talking about when i see it? im new to the mighty max thing, but have the ability to do about anything!
the tabs that are sticking out at you that go through the center hole on the rim. youll see what im talking about when you see it. sorry i dont have a pic or i would post it. if you dont figure it out just let me know and ill pull a wheel off my truck get a pic up tomarrow its about to pour down rain so i cant get a pic now.
You wanna stick with oem rims? I'd say titans 5 spoke with a polished face or tundra, don't gotta bore the tundras and nice painted. I think all toyota 6x5.5 don't gotta bore, only hard to find a good clean set. I'm rocking some 1st gen pathfinders, 200 rims and tires and they're chrome. My civic is on 95 gsr rims and I polished em out myself, just the face for a good accent.
