HELP!! had my truck for 6 years and have had to fix very little but i have had to put a used carb on it. (mine was cracked and pouring water into the fuel return line)
i have made sure that it is an exact replacement mikuni carb but now after about 2 months i cannot have the electric choke hooked up or it dies when it gets warm and will not run until it cools.
the thing that gets me is if i unplug the choke wire the engine high idles too long but it runs good down the road with only a slight deadspot in the center throttle area.
can anyone help me with diagnosis here i have been a mechanic for most of my life and have not run into this issue.

Go buy a manual choke. Their cheap and easy to install

did you replace the carb with another from a D50?
