well I spent the last few weeks rebuilding the top end, now its time to do some research on dropping it. Not sure if I want to do a suspension and body drop or just suspension. I haven't found any info on body drops yet, but I will probably do a static drop until I can afford to bag it and get a sheltered place to work on it. Then eventually i will paint it. Maybe stick a turbo kit on it if my finances will allow it.

By the way, any tips on trouble shooting a dead temp guage?

info on body drops can be found. Google it and it will come up. it might not be your specific make and model.

one specific place is bodydrop.org .....check it out it is a smaller forum but so much knowledge.
my screen name is baggedbmy93mazda. good luck. if this is your first bd please research plenty

Hi hampton123,

Welcome to the site.

Checking the coolant temperature gauge is a very involved process with includes checking the sending unit, the constant voltage limiter and the gauge must be checked systemically. In my Haynes manual, there is an 16-step procedure to check the voltage limiter. To check the coolant temperature gauge is a 8-step procedure.

On my 85 truck, I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so I installed a mechanical temperature gauge for about $25.

Hope this helps, John

Yes this will be my first body drop. I have done a body lift before though so I imagine its close to the same just in the opposite direction. Thank you for the link though. And yeah I was price shopping today for mechanical guages, will probably go with one of the triple guage set ups (temp/oil/volt) that way i can really know how my engine is feeling.

ok so I think a bd might be out of my league at this point. I was kinda thinking it would be more along the lines of just putting shorter body mount bushings in... I think I will just stick with suspension drop.
