on 98+ rangers the engine crossmember (which the lowers arms bolt to) hangs roughly 2" below the rest of the frame. you need to raise that section up in order to lay them flat.

a Z is known as ford shinnanigans

this is the start of a Z

then you get to plate it all in and weld it all up

this way the frame will actually lay flat on the ground, instead of laying mostly on just the engine crossmember.
Laying without a z on an extended cab isn't that noticeable, but with my truck being so short it was annoying looking.

oh trust me dude, it's just as noticable on an ext cab. especially when you look at it in your driveway everyday. nothing more annoying to me about the damn thing. probably getting it done this winter tho.
