I've decided to go with the tube notch. I want to get it down in a weekend or a long weekend. Quick question on notch sizing. Will an 8" notch let me lay?

It will be close man it just depends on the over all diameter of the tire you are going to use, What I would do is using the size tire you plan on running when your done ( I'm not sure if you plan on running 20s) but go to a tire manufacturer's website and look at their tire data, they should have a list of tire sizes & overall tire dimensions. Find the dimeter for the size tires you plan on running. Call this NDT. and also find the tire diameter for the tires you are currently running. Call this CDT

Measure the distance from the frame to the ground with the frame level. Call this FG then measure from the top of your axle tube to the frame ( don't include bump stop). Call this AF.

Next Subtract FG-AF = FG-AF (Call this DL)

Now take the NDT and subtract the CDT = (NDT-CDT)/2 (Call this DA)

Now for the last step Add DL to DA (DL + DA) and that is the size notch you will need to lay.

lol hope that isn't confusing it might be let me know man

When you install your notch make sure you install your link set up first because depending on what style link set up 2,3,4 what ever and how you have it set up will determine the distance the axle moves forward and backward realative to the frame through it's rotation.

Good deal.

I ordered that notch yesterday. It just makes so much more sense to just put that one in instead of the 8 piece one. Makes my time table to laying that much better.

Baha, thanks for the equations, when I have the bed off, I'll play with them.

what kind of tires are those? They look similar to my Wanlis. Just curious to see if anyone else uses them.

The tires are just some cheap Nankang tires. Pretty much a Falken knock-off.

It would be on 22's if the tires I need which are 245/30/22 weren't $500 each. Maybe one day soon once I get out of school or get my new job and start making $$$$. It is setup for 22's in the back and it will be setup for 22's in the front. It will just be being able to afford the wheels and tires.
