Honestly, I'm with these guys. I realize I'm a n00b here but I wanted to chime in as it's kind of my job (literally I do software certification and testing to make sure everything is usable and working correctly). Here are the things I've noticed:
-Links don't work. I realize this has been brought up already and that it's effectively on Google's shoulders now to resolve BUT this is a HUGE impact for me as a new B-series owner. When I search Google for a quick answer or root through my list of hoarded information, all I get is a "Ooops we couldn't find the data" link. From what I can tell the knowledge base on this site is extremely strong and I feel like this one thing is robbing this forum of MUCH needed traffic.
-The search engine is TERRIBLE. If I can't specify specific phrases to search for within quotation marks, I instantly walk away. The overabundance of data thrown at a new user is so overwhelming that the end result is a new thread of "Hey guys, how do I do X". This pisses off old members and enables spoon feeding for new ones. Not to mention that I cannot filter searches based on when they were filed, who they were filed by, tags, or search "Title" vs "Text".
-I can't easily find the threads or posts that I've been a part of. I joined 2 weeks ago and started 1 thread, I have no idea where that is or how to find it. If I click my profile, I should be able to quickly see a list of posts I've made or threads I've started. It might be there now but I cannot find it.
-I have to use my email to log in as opposed to my user name. This seems small but typing "FirstName.
LastName@gmail.com" and then my password (which I had to reset for some reason) is a lot more of an impact than typing 5 characters. Oh and I've got this weird thing where I never leave myself "automatically logged in".
-I have no idea why the FS section is a different tab. Different sub-forum sure but different tab altogether...
-Home is "New Posts" (I don't hate that being on the front page but it's misleading as "Home" typically denotes a Home page). And "Threads" are the "Forum" (which again is misleading, if I click "Threads" I expect to be greeted with a wall of different threads not sub-forums and forums)
I won't go into my dislike of the bubbly iPhone style look and feel. I realize that a more mobile friendly platform is what you're after so I'll reserve my comments for that.
