so my 2.2 just started the famous lifter tick its only got 54.000 miles and not rebuilt just new ..i can tell its a fading noise not constant same pitch and u did a motor flush and it gelped about 3days abd came back i realy dont wana put older 2.0 head stuff in this newer motor will it hurt my motor or blow it up or anything or do i need to do a taredown?
No tear down,or swaps required. With those low miles I would run a good oil(conventional) is fine and a good filter like mobil one.Honestly I would leave it alone and keep it simple. These trucks are known for this.My 87 has done this for 26yrs and no rebuild yet.Just my take on it.
It's always better to hear a little lifter noise than not. If you're not hearing a little slight tick, this is bad. This means your valves are not closing all the way.
Mine has 1500 miles on a new Motor and I hear a little lifter noise too. I have adjustable rockers though so I can set them how I want.
thanks for the good news and im runnin 10w 30 castrol next gen with a stp filter I also keep alittle mystery oil in the system and change it every 2500 miles thanks for the info guys realy settels myself lol
