Fuse problem after system installed - 91 B2200 5 speed

My truck keeps blowing the meter fuse. It does not blow the fuse every time I drive it. I had an after market alarm system put in, but not sure if maybe it might be part of the problem. Any suggestions is greatly appricted.

Who installed it? It sounds like there is a loose wire and when your driving and going over bumps the wire gets contact with metal.

First thing I would do is go over every wire the installers would have touched. So many of those so called installers do shoddy work. I've heard horror stories from Best Buy and Circuit City.

Check by your exhaust pipe see if the wire for the reverse light is melted to the exhaust thats what mine did took me days to find the damn problem

I took it to a shop that installs car alarms. Will check that out thanks man.

toddluck thanks man! Sure enough I had a wire that goes to my blinkers touching the exhaust.
