im only going to use their videos for guidance. i plan to purchase all my supplies from fiberlay.com, as they have a retail location about 45 mins away from me, and they have the carbon fiber cloth, 50in wide sold by the linear yard... i think 12yards @ $36 a yard should be enough to do my hood, i think 4 layers should be enough... but also need to make a fiberglass mold to be able to make a perfect copy of my hood tho...

Mmm carbon fiber. If you guys look over on fiberglass forums theres some cool projects and people over there that do crazy work with fiberglass and carbon fiber. Lots of good info if your looking to learn more.

it would be tough to make a hood mold because of the size. just wrapping the hood would be fine but you have a lot of surface to hand sand smooth and level the resin out. its not gonna be an easy task either way you go.

hood mold could be made out of covering your hood with fiberglass and use fiberglass as the mold, lay your carbon fiber into that... thats the route im going to go when i can afford it. will try to remember to take pix when the time comes...

You will have to do something between the hood and the fiberglass to make a smooth mold, otherwise the mold will look like the inside of a boat
