I have a 86 b2000 that was gave to me from my brother. The problem is that when turning on the heat or A/C the first two blower speed seletions on the control the blower doesn't work. When the I press the a/c button the compressor comes on but no fan but when i turn knob till fan comes on the compressor cuts off and fan comes on. Is this in the selector switch or something else? Just seeing if anyone had same problem and has the answer to this thanks in advance.

This sounds like the typical blower resistor issue, not uncommon on these trucks.

About $50 new, pull out the glove box completely (lots of Phillips head screws), and the blower resistor is bolted to the top of the evaporator case, 2 Phillips screws.

thanks for the info that was the problem. Now i have to replace the mounting gasket on the carb because when u start truck up with A/C on it floods out due to air being sucked in between carb and intake. is rebuilding the carb hard? i've rebuilt holly carbs before and quardjets.

The stock B2000/B2200 truckburetor is one of the mot complex on the planet. Some have been successful building it, some have not.

My own mechanic sent the one from his son's 89 truck out for rebuilding !!!
