truck cuts out

it will start right up if i put 12v to pos side of coil. this happened twice so far this week i've checked all wires connections what could it be?

figured it out. i thought it might be the ignition switch but when i pulled the steering colum cover off and tested the voltage it was fine so i follower the wire through the fire wall till it was dead and right behind the head light there was a break in the wire simple fix but chasing it down was aggrivating
