I have a 91 mazda b2200 with a reman engine with 200 miles on it, it has brand new cap, rotor, plugs wires,
and fuel filter. It runs great but i have a problem with it after filling it up with gas the next day it doesnt wanna stay running , when i finally get it running and warmed up it bucks and bogs down when i get up to 40 mph. after shutting it down and go back to it , it runs fine til the next time i put gas in it. It is annoying.
any suggestions.

Is this a vehicle with fuel injection, or carburetor?

Try leaving the gas cap loose.

Maybe the vent is blocked, so you are getting vapor lock.

I had a motorcycle that I got cheap from a mechanic because he couldn't figure that one out. . .

the carb hasn't been touched that i now of. Where is the vent located. that might explain that when i go to fuel up i release the gas cap and it always has alot of pressure coming out of it. thanks for the help so far guys

I also forgot to mention if this helps but the other day when i started it up after getting gas it started the problem of not staying running so i did take the gas cap off and started back up and stayed running i left the gas cap off and went to work going down the interstate and it was still bucking and would not go over 40.
i dont now if that was caused by leaving the gas cap completely off or what.

On a carbed truck,u only need about 2-3 pounds of pressure to the carb.U might want to run an inline fuel pressure gauge and see what ur pressure is.As some said earlier, the gas cap may not be venting properly--the vent is built in the cap.Might try a new cap, they are pretty cheap. Also, there is a big black cannister under the hood on the passenger side. This is a charcoal filter that traps fumes from the tank.Make sure all those lines are hooked up,especially the one tthat runs from the filter back to the tank.I assume u have an electric fuel pump in the tank? Onle other thing might be the tank has trash in it.When u fill up,the trash gets stirred up and clogs the "sock" filter on the bottom of the pump.As the truck sets up or the fuel gets lower, the trash returns to the bottom. To fix that u will have to drop the tank OR take the bed off, pull the fuel pump and check the tank.BJ

If you have a lot of pressure, then that is not the problem. . .vapor lock prevents fuel from flowing like suction would.

Pull the fuel filter and blow through it in reverse into a container and look for water blobs. Maybe you have a lot of water in the 20 year old truck gas tank.
