i got 2 questions. first my shifter is sloppy as hell. do i gotta git the bushing from the dealer?
2nd, is it the late 80's rx7 short throws that fit our trucks?

i replaced every bushing and washer that was in my shifter. i bought everything at the mazda dealership and it was under $15 i believe. me and the parts guy sat down and looked at the blown apart pic of the shifter. then i said i want that, and that, and that, and that...lol then i bought the rubber boot too. i dont remember how much that cost. it couldnt have been too much or i wouldnt have bought it. after all, im a broke dick.

thanks! i was on ebay and that never popped up lol. i'll probly take mikey's approach first since there is a mazda dealer bout 20 miles from here. if its cheaper that way i'll go fleabay it.
Only bushing iv ever changed is the one on the shaft itself. And that always took the slack out.

yah i think thats where mine is havin the problem. i can pretty much move it back to first keepin it in fifth
Hmm...I have a entirley different problem with my shifter/clutch. Hard as hell to to shift in the morning,and into second is a PITA, also if I take off if stumbles along till it warms up....kinda strange. Stumbles till about 2800 then it comes alive...now if I BARELY touch the throttle, or if I really throttle HARD it will do ....ok...but you can feel it stumbnling (lack of better wording)
Really wanna get that fixed here soon.
