Going to replace my leaky heater core, and it doesn't look like the part of the heater box it is in will come out without a fight.
Does the dash need to be loosened up, and moved for clearance?
Can it removed without messing with the dash assembly?
My haynes manual isn't a whole lot of help.

I remember having trouble with a black bar on the left (Driver side) that mounts to it. I took the bolts out of the bottom then just bent it out of the way instead of taking the bolts out of the top of that bar (They were a pain to get to). After it was back in I bent it back over and bolted it back up. Hope that helps.

Brett, just remove that dash... it'll take an hour but really isnt that hard. i done mine and i could take your dash out in like an hour lol if not sooner. these mazda trucks are easier than a newer car or truck these days.. have fun ...

Ya, after pullin my dash for my bodydrop. . I dont see anyway you could change the core without takin the dsah out. . I think it'd be wise to jus do the work to take the dash out. . then the part replacement will go alot smoother. . .
