Sup guys, yesterday was pulling into a driveway going about 10mph and my whole engine shut off, and would'nt start again. turns out the cambelt snapped! i hear you can get bent pistons/valves or whatever but are the 2.0l B2000 engines pretty safe when it comes to the cambelt snapping or am i fucked!!
any help appreciated
THANKS
im pretty sure this is a non interference engine. with you goin 10 mph its a good chance the rpms were down as well. i would say its a pretty safe bet that nothing was hurt. all you can do is throw a new belt on it and hope for the best. why your in there you might as well change the tensioner and water pump.

these are non interfearance heads just get a new belt
^What they said. Non-interference engines so everything should be ok.
omg quick replys guys, BEST FORUM EVER

thank god for that i was thinking my whole engine was screwed! im so happy lol
change you water pump and tensioners too man
lol i already told him that todd. you are too damn late. gah. but yeh man its sort of a pain in the ass to get to everything when changing the belt so make sure to go ahead and change the water pump and tensioner while your in there. pump is pretty cheap too. the bearings in the pump could be worn out causing slop and wear on the belt anyways. let us know how it turns out
