After a Sunday wrench marathon I was pumped to have my little b2600 up and running. I bought the truck as a basket case. It would crank, but wouldn't start. Long story short, failed radiator probably caused the head gasket to blow. I put a new radiator on it and had the head reworked. It runs great now, BUT, unfortunately, I just found out that I have a pretty serious leak around the crank pulley. Is this a common issue with these engines?
If I have to go into the engine for a rebuild, it may make more sense just to find a good 2.6L donor engine. This one has 206k on it, or at least that's what the ODO reads. I have no idea if the block/pistons/rings are original. There was still a good cross hatch on the cylinder walls, so I have a sneaky suspicion that it has had some bottom end work.

it might be that the area that the seal rides on is just worn away, causing the leak. I would pull the seal and see if there is a good grove worn in the seal surface. If so most parts houses can get what is called a speedy-sleeve it taps on to the area on the crank were your seal goes and comes with an altered size seal

front main seal, pull the thing apart and change the seal
pull the rad back out, pull anything out that will stop u from getting any access to that pully off
you can do it with the rad in there, but its easier with it out

Sweet! Shows you what I know. I expected that to be something I needed to tear it down to fix. Thanks for making me feel like a noob.
This is a common problem I take it?

Looks to be about $10 from Advance Auto Parts. I've never been so happy about a leaking seal in my life.

make sure you look at the crank when you pull the seal and make sure the crank isnt gouged where the seal seats if it is it will leak again
