cost to rebuild 2.6

Just looking for a rough idea what it would cost to rebuild one. Lookin at buying a truck with over 200,000 miles on it and think it would be a good idea to go through the motor before we stick it in the other truck.

Really depends on what you're wantin to accomplish.... and what needs to be done...

Head gasket set is about 140 at autozone

I put a trans oil cooler on mine, that was bout 30...

Cleaned everything good, new oil and coolant, and painted everything.... bout 60....

New timing cover and oil pan gaskets, bout 35.....


Really jus depends man

I'm talking bore, and new pistons, turning crank you know complete rebuild. Making it like new, maybe better. Just thought maybe someone had done one and remembered how much it cost them.

You would be better off buying a JDM Engine & swapping it out.
