you can put the 2200 in with no problems. only thing different is the bore size and stroke, and different cam and valve train.

great combo on 2000 motor is the 2200 crank and rods /2.0 pistons and 2.2head for more torque or 2.2 block with 2.0 crank and rods with 2.2 pistons and 2.0 head for higher revs

Its not 100% the same but it will bolt right in place of the 2.0 that you have. I say this cause I don't wont you getting parts for the 2.0 while trying to rebuild the 2.2. Use the 2.2 short block and your 2.0 head and solid lifters.

2.0 head is SUPERIOR. Adjustable rockers. Must have with larger lift cams.

No the head casting is the same. Just the rockers are different. If you take a 2.2 block and put the 2.0 head on it. It will be the same as a stock 2.2. Just with solid lifters instead of hyd ones which suck.
